Solstice matches skilled young professionals with nonprofits that need their expertise, turning untapped talent into measurable social impact.
Solstice is the bridge between professionals who want their volunteering to matter and nonprofits that need specialized help they can't afford. We scope the projects, manage the engagements, and measure the results so both sides get more than they could alone.
Volunteer your professional skills in software, finance, marketing, strategy, design, or data through a curated consulting engagement with a nonprofit partner. Build real impact, real skills, and a track record of work that matters.

You'll work on problems with no textbook answers, for clients who need results on a deadline. Financial modeling for a community health clinic. A CRM migration for a food bank. The kind of high-stakes project work that accelerates careers.
Solstice documents every engagement with an impact report you can share on LinkedIn, in interviews, or with your employer. A portfolio of civic leadership that speaks for itself.
Every Solstice project follows a proven format: a clear problem, a specific deliverable, and a timeline. You know exactly what you're signing up for before you commit.
Databases, scheduling tools, intake platforms, and internal systems built to specification. You'll ship working software that a nonprofit team uses every day.
Communications audits, donor segmentation, campaign architecture, and annual appeal redesigns. Strategic fundraising work with measurable revenue impact.

Website redesigns, social media strategies, brand refreshes, and content systems. You'll build the digital presence an organization needs to reach more people.
Workflow mapping, volunteer management systems, and program delivery optimization. Structural improvements that free up hours of staff time every week.

We pair you with a nonprofit project that fits your expertise and professional goals. You receive a full project brief, including scope, timeline, and deliverable, before you commit.
Work directly with the nonprofit team over a 6 to 12 week engagement. Solstice manages the project throughout: kickoff, check-ins, milestone tracking, and stakeholder communication.
Hand off the finished deliverable. Solstice produces a documented impact report covering the problem, your approach, and the results. It's yours to share on LinkedIn, in interviews, or with your employer.

We work with nonprofits of all sizes across New York and Massachusetts.
Solstice Foundation exists because volunteering is broken. Not in spirit, but in structure. We built something to fix that.
There's a paradox at the center of volunteering. Millions of talented young professionals want to give back to their communities, but the opportunities available to them rarely let them use the skills they spend all day building. Meanwhile, small and mid-size nonprofits are drowning in operational challenges they can identify but can't afford to solve: outdated databases, nonexistent fundraising strategies, no financial models, broken internal processes.
The result is a massive mismatch. A financial analyst who could build a three-year budget model for a community health clinic is instead painting a fence. A software developer who could build a volunteer scheduling system is sorting donations. The nonprofit doesn't get what it actually needs. The volunteer doesn't feel the impact of their time. And the donors funding that nonprofit have no idea how much further their dollars could go if someone solved the organization's underlying operational problems.
Solstice Foundation was created to close that gap.
The difference with Solstice comes down to how we work. We don't operate a self-service marketplace where volunteers browse listings and nonprofits hope for the best. We function as a project management layer between the two sides, and that layer is what makes the outcomes reliable.
Every Solstice engagement starts with a diagnostic: we work with the partner nonprofit to identify the highest-impact problem a skilled volunteer could realistically solve. Then we scope it into a defined project with a clear deliverable, timeline, and success metrics. We match a Solstice Fellow whose skills fit the brief, and we manage the engagement with check-ins and oversight so nothing falls through the cracks. When the project is complete, we measure and document the outcome, producing impact analytics that serve the nonprofit, the Fellow, and our funders simultaneously.
This structure is what transforms well-intentioned volunteerism into consistent, measurable capacity building.
The Solstice model runs on aligned incentives. Every stakeholder in the ecosystem benefits in ways that reinforce the benefits for everyone else. That's what makes the model sustainable, scalable, and fundamentally different from traditional volunteering.
Fellows get what no soup kitchen can offer: a portfolio-worthy engagement where they applied their real professional skills to a real problem with a measurable outcome. That's career development and civic impact in the same experience.
Organizations get what amounts to free management consulting on their most pressing operational challenges: a scoped solution with a dedicated person, delivered and documented, theirs to keep.
When Solstice makes a charity more efficient, every dollar other donors give to that charity stretches further. The effect compounds across the entire philanthropic ecosystem.
Companies get a turnkey CSR and talent development channel: sponsor Solstice, and your employees get curated, high-impact pro bono engagements that develop their skills while generating real social outcomes.
Every successful engagement produces proof of impact, which attracts more and better Fellows, which lets Solstice take on harder projects, which produces more impressive outcomes, which draws more partner nonprofits and more funders. Fellows who had great experiences become evangelists. They recruit their peers, return for second engagements, and as they advance in their careers, become donors, mentors, and board members in the broader nonprofit sector.
The long-term vision is a network of civic-minded professionals who trace the beginning of their philanthropic careers back to a Solstice engagement. That's the "inspiring young adults to give back" mission realized at scale, with returns that compound over decades.

We started in 2023 by bringing people together. Through galas, community service events, and partnerships with nationally recognized charities (The Bowery Mission, Covenant House, City Harvest, the American Heart Association, Ronald McDonald House, Wounded Warriors, Move United, and Spoons Across America), we mobilized over a thousand young adults around the idea that giving back should be a defining part of every career.
That work proved something important: the appetite exists. Young professionals don't need to be convinced to volunteer. They need to be given opportunities worthy of their time. The Solstice Fellows program is what we built on that foundation: a structured model that channels the energy we saw in those early days into outcomes that change how organizations operate.
Every dollar you give strengthens the nonprofits we serve. Your donation funds the project management, impact analytics, and infrastructure that makes Solstice engagements possible, all at no cost to our partner charities.
